If you need an easy dessert, this is for you! No crust to make or roll out. Just a simple crumble top, over delicious apples and you are good to go!!
As delicious as apple pie, without all the work. Pair with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream and I promise this will quickly become a favorite.
Apples really shrink up when baking, so it may seem like too many, but it will work out fine. An hour after mine was removed from the oven it had shrunk down even more. This is a good amount for a deep pie dish or a brownie pan such as an 8x8 or 9x9.
This is super yummy if you add pears with the apples also. Just keep in mind that we want them to still look like apple slices after baking so use a firm apple. No red or golden delicious.

Ingredients
Apple Part
6-8 Gala or Granny Smith apples
3 Tbs brown sugar
1 Tsp white sugar
1/2 stick butter, cubed
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp vanilla
pinch of salt

Crumble topping
1 stick of butter
1/2 cup flour
1 cup rolled oats
2 tbs brown sugar
1 Tbs white sugar
1/2 tsp cinnamon
pinch of nutmeg
pinch of salt

preheat oven to 350 degrees
Slice apples into slices. I peel my apples and then cut them in half. Cut each half in half and the core them. Each quarter of a slice should give you 4-5 slices. We do not want them too thick or too thin. So 4-5 per quarter is perfect size.
Mix apples with cinnamon, sugars, nutmeg and salt. Put into your baking dish, top with cubed butter
For crumble put the butter into the bowl, I usually use cold butter so it doesn't melt because I mix with my hand. add all the rest of the ingredients and mix with a fork to combine or use your hand.
When combined crumble over the top of the apples. It doesn't all have to be covered.
Put into the oven for 30-35 minutes. You can serve immediately or let cool to room temperature
