When it comes to an indulgence, a total food infatuation... mine is brownies. Any kind, I am down for it and will probably blow my calories for 10 days eating the whole pan in one day.

Usually, I try to avoid making them unless I just cannot go another moment without one. I made these to use up my leftover colored candies from the 4th of July, and my caramel sauce from thumbprint cookies (coconut thumbprints with salted caramel, recipe listed... see for caramel sauce recipe)

Instead of a typical 8x8 brownie pan, I used a pie pan and cut this into wedges.

You can omit the candies and caramel if you wish, but why would you?! Or, for even more chocolate do a hot fudge center.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup melted butter

  • 1 Tbs prepared coffee, or instant coffee grounds

  • 1 1/8 cup sugar

  • 2 eggs

  • 2 tsp vanilla

  • 1/2 all purpose flour

  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

  • 1/4 tsp salt

  • 1/2 cup mini M&Ms or any candy you choose

  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce

DIRECTIONS

These are so easy because it is all done in one bowl! My favorite way to bake. 10 bowls and mix this then add to this can get old, fast.

  1. preheat to 350

  2. Whisk melted butter and sugar until sugar isn’t grainy. Add in vanilla and both eggs and whisk to combine, then add flour cocoa, and salt.

  3. If you are making a pie like above then spray a pie pan with nonstick spray, if not spray your 8x8

  4. put about half the batter into the pan and then drizzle on caramel and half the candies. Add rest of batter and remaining candies. I scraped my caramel pan and just drizzled the little not left in the pan over the top.

  5. I listed 20 minutes as bake time but I NEVER bake my brownies to full time. I suggest baking 15 minutes and then turning your oven off. Let them sit in the oven 5-7 minute more.

  6. remove from oven. It will look spongy but that is okay, it is from the caramel in the middle getting hot and bubbling.

  7. let cool on the counter for 10-15 minutes. Then pop on the freezer to form up for 15-20.

  8. cut into wedges and enjoy!

For extra yum add a scoop of ice cream and a drizzle of caramel or hot fudge
